Position Description

FreshRealm is looking for a high performing strategic finance leader to join the company to build a strong FP&A function providing sound analysis and leadership to support decision making in a rapid growth environment. Reporting to the CFO, this person will establish, manage, and lead the FP&A function. This position will play a key role in ensuring the best operational and financial decisions are made while maintaining a strong focus on strategic business planning support, cost management and optimization, historical performance analysis, and complex forecasting. This person will manage the planning process, analyze data, and develop strategy for the company’s financial planning and analysis functions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned finance professional with demonstrated expertise in building reporting analytics from the ground up, partnering with business leaders across the organization, and developing finance talent.

Core Responsibilities

  • Management reporting to support budgeting, forecasting and ongoing performance management.  Dashboard creation, operational management reviews and Board presentations
  • Develop and lead strategic planning, annual plan/budgeting and forecasting process maintaining driver-based financial models
  •  Ongoing real time performance management and analysis of results providing variance analysis and recommendations to management.  Identify opportunities for continuous process and cost/margin/profitability improvements
  • Build relationships and partner with Operations to evaluate results, plant and labor efficiency, and cost improvement initiatives
  • Decision support for Business Development initiatives (pricing, profitability and cost model analyses), capital expenditure and R&D spending

Background and Qualifications

  • BS, preferably in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred. CFA/CPA a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience which includes managing, leading and mentoring staff
  • Prior experience in food/manufacturing/logistics and B2B multi-location operations a plus
  • Experience with SAP/ERP systems preferred
  • Ability to work in fast moving and rapidly changing environment
  • A hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong financial and analytical skills
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong business and common sense
  • Leader with business acumen to lead design of world class FP&A team, systems and processes
